In general, this is how you become a valued member of our parenting team. There may be slight variations from region to region.
- Contact your local Children’s Aid Society or Family and Children's Services. We will speak to you about your current situation, as well as answer any questions you may have.
- Complete the online Inquiry Form here and we will contact you.
- We will schedule a meeting with you in your home to conduct an information interview, as well as answer any questions you may have.
- You will begin a Homestudy and be registered for PRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education) Pre-Service training. This is standardized training offered to all adoptive and foster parents throughout the province of Ontario. Completion of PRIDE is a mandatory requirement.
- If your application is declined, you will be notified promptly, and we will meet with you to explain our decision. You have the right to review the decision and there are channels to guide your review
- If you are successful in the mutual assessment process, we will begin to match a placement with your family. This match is based on the information you have provided through the HomeStudy process, which helps ensure the best fit of child to family.
